Our Why

About us

Tanzania isn’t a destination to us. It’s home. It’s the place that taught us what wild really means: raw, unfiltered, and humbling. It’s the crackle of a campfire under a sky so thick with stars you feel you could scoop them with your hands. It’s the breathless moment when a lioness locks eyes with you from ten metres away and you realise, in that heartbeat, who truly belongs here.
We believe travel should leave you changed—not just with photos, but with dust on your soul and a deeper respect for the planet.
We built this company to protect what we love: the endless plains, the shy leopards in the craters, the Maasai communities who have guarded these lands for centuries, and the quiet corners tourists rarely reach.
Every safari we craft is an act of gratitude. Gratitude to the rangers who risk their lives against poachers. Gratitude to the wildlife that lets us witness their unbroken rituals. Gratitude to you—the rare traveller who chooses to tread lightly and see deeply.
We exist to keep Tanzania’s magic alive, untamed, and authentic. To hand it over, not as a product, but as a privilege. That is our why. And as long as the wildebeest still migrate and Kilimanjaro still wears its snow crown, we’ll be here—boots in the red earth, hearts wide open—sharing it with those who feel the same pull.
Welcome to Tanzania.

Our Story

Top Nature Tanzania Safaris was born under an acacia tree, over a cup of strong chai, and from a promise Adam Stephen made to himself: that one day he would share his Tanzania in a way that honoured every story the land has ever told.
Adam grew up in a modern farming family in northern Tanzania—pioneers in their village. While many neighbours still used ox-ploughs, his parents were early adopters of better seed varieties, simple irrigation systems, and crop rotation, always searching for progress. Yet capital was scarce, and the red soil demanded hard work. Every child in the family went to school, but the day began before sunrise and ended long after dark: milking cows at 5 a.m., walking kilometres to class, then returning home to weed, harvest, and tend livestock under the setting sun. Education and effort were non-negotiable; they were the only inheritance his parents could guarantee.
His passion for the wild pulled him early. After completing his studies at the National College of Tourism with a focus on wildlife management and conservation, Adam spent more than three decades guiding in Tanzania’s most celebrated parks and reserves. He worked with some of the country’s most respected safari companies, earning a reputation for deep knowledge, quiet humility, and an almost uncanny ability to find the rare and the beautiful. His understanding of the savannah — its rhythms, its secrets, and its fragile balance — became legendary among colleagues and guests alike.
Because of that expertise and relentless dedication, Adam was awarded a scholarship to further his studies in South Africa for two years, an opportunity that broadened his vision of conservation and responsible tourism even further. When he returned, he carried not just knowledge, but a quiet determination: one day, he would create a company that honoured Tanzania the way it deserved to be honoured — with respect, integrity, and genuine care.
A passionate world traveller with an exceptional talent for turning dreams into flawless journeys, Deneen came with her family and closest friends through Adam’s Top Nature Tanzania safaris. What began as a trip became something deeper. Adam welcomed them not just into the bush, but into his home—sharing meals, stories, and laughter long into the night. A friendship took root, grounded in mutual respect and a shared belief that travel should be real, kind, and transformative.
That friendship grew into partnership between Adam and Deneen: Adam, the quiet master of the Tanzanian wild, and Deneen, the warm, meticulous heart who ensures every guest feels seen, safe, and wonderstruck.
It is two people — supported by a small, proud team of guides, drivers, and camp staff who grew up under these same skies — doing what we love, the way we believe it should always be done.
Our story is still being written, one guest, one sunrise, one quiet moment of awe at a time. And we would be deeply honoured to write the next chapter with you.
